Selfless Giving Brightens Holidays at KVC Prairie Ridge Hospital

As we celebrate the arrival of a new year, full of hope and great potential, Prairie Ridge would like to pause and reflect on our 2015 holiday season. During the holidays, we were able to come together through various celebrations, selfless giving, and traditions to ensure the children at Prairie Ridge were able to create positive holiday memories.

The month of December began with an annual Holiday Party hosted by Boy Scout Troup #180. This event is a longstanding tradition that started over 20 years ago and is a favorite among clients and staff. The Boy Scouts, along with their parents, played games with our clients. They enjoyed snacks and music, and gave each youth a gift. Later in the month, members of the Kansas City Kansas Fire Department participated in the annual Prairie Ridge Holiday Party for youth and their families. Attendees dressed up, were served dinner in the decorated gym and enjoyed a program prepared by the youth. Many volunteers also made it out to Prairie Ridge in December to partake in group activities and festive gatherings. These volunteers show the amazing support of the community during the holiday season.

These celebrations and activities would not have been possible without those who so generously contributed time and resources to ensure our clients were able to enjoy the holiday season.  We are grateful for the community partners who selflessly gave throughout the holiday season.
